Student Opportunities Officer candidate Yasmin Noor

manifesto

I am running for the role of Student Opportunities Officer because I believe I can help make a real difference for all students, and help make Kingston University a better place for our current students and for all the students yet to come.

My aims if elected are to:

  • Support new and current sports and societies in building larger communities through better awareness and advertisement, increased support and improved communication from the student union and its members, and create a more inclusive culture.
  • Increase and improve social events for all groups of people at Kingston ranging from more diverse events for different cultures, faiths, and views, to bigger and better home sports fixtures and Varsity.
  • Increase student opportunities, events and support for all students including freshers, postgraduates, and international students.
  • Expand the volunteering opportunities and charitable events for all students.
  • Create a drive to increase sustainability across all campuses at Kingston University.

Currently, I am the Events Officer for the sports committee at Kingston University, alongside being an Event Management Student Rep for LUSL representing the students of London.

The skills and experience gained from these two roles in particular will greatly help in the role of Student Opportunities Officer.
