you might have seen our stories and posts regarding our fresh award function, here’s all about it.

the Union of Kingston Students recently celebrated the Society Awards 2023, recognising and honouring the best of the best amongst 70+ societies. Each year, students form a society or become a member of various communities here at Kingston University, ranging from academic, cultural, faith, arts & activities, liberation, and campaigns society.

this year, to our surprise, we had more than 160 nominations. WOW!

the night at the Society Awards was a joyful evening, filled with cheer, laughter, recognizing extraordinary talent and achievement. Here’s a list of winners who won awards in the group category:

1. Best Inter-Society Collaboration Award: ABACUS-Arab-Nepalese-Kurdish Societies
2. Contribution to Community Award: Islamic Society
3. Outstanding Academic Society Award: Psychology Society
4. Outstanding Arts & Activities Society Award: Film Society
5. Outstanding Cultural Society Award: Filipino Society
6. Outstanding Faith Society Award: Islamic Society
7. Outstanding Liberation & Campaign Society Award: Disabled Students Society
8. Newcomer Society of the Year Award: Disabled Students Society
9. Society of the Year Award: VAST Society

and our Individual category winners are:

1. Outstanding Contribution to Committee:
   Georgina Annie, Marx Manoza, Sini Rajesh, Zeynep Zee Sertkaya, Kais Bouarissa, and Dominika Zabielska
2. Outstanding Contribution to Societies:
   Steve Kent, Naeem Habib, Iain Cecil, Zee Turner-Yusuf, and Tianna Wilson-Aghayere
