Rose awards

Good news everyone!

Our Volunteering team came runner up in the Exceptional Contribution to the Community/Environment category of The Rose Awards 2015 (Kingston University Staffing Awards) which were held yesterday at the rose theatre.

The project for which we received this award was the Holocaust Memorial Day Event and Art Competition, which the Union's volunteering team worked on in conjunction with the University Chaplain, Andrew Williams, and Head of Student Wellbeing, Pat Wrangles.

The event included presentations, a speech by the Mayor of Kingston upon Thames and the observation of a minute's silence to remember those who lost their lives in the Holocaust and other acts of genocide. More information about the event which was held in January can be found here: http://www.kingston.ac.uk/faith/events/holocaust-memorial-day/

We would like to say well done to all those involved with this fantastic event and congratulations on your award.
