The International Society had a wonderful month, our events were both different and engaging. Our goal is to bring new people together regardless of their ethnicity and provide them with a fun and comfortable place away from home. We’ve been able to gather large groups of students to participate in the events. The events were: Quiz night, BHM Open Mic, the Halloween Party, and the trip to Port Talbot, Wales.

Quiz night
New and current members gathered together to battle on their knowledge of London and Music. The night was filled with laughter and competition. The winners got a lovely prize and bragging rights.
BHM Open Mic
In honour of Black History Month we hosted an open mic event that brought people with varying talents. Following the event we invited students to join us in an after hour jam session in the Union Space. We took turns improvising solos accompanied by an experienced guitarist. It was great to see people break out of their shells to perform.
Halloween Party
International students who didn’t celebrate Halloween came out for a taste. We went from dancing in costumes in the Union Space to karaoke at O’Neills, the party followed us wherever we went.

Trip to Wales
The trip to Wales was one of the most anticipated event and it took months of planning. Our members were excited to spend the weekend in a cosy cabin away from the city. We spent time getting to know one another over scenic hikes, barbeque and singing by the bonfire and exploring the nearby town.
