we’re partnering with Studio KT1 on an idea, powered by students and graduates from Kingston: use a vacant shop in Kingston to empower you to make money and develop your skills! our space will see creativity in action with maker spaces, student and graduate work on show and for sale, student-delivered services (SME advice) and workspace.

we’ll host a lively programme of events, exhibitions, talks and workshops curated by you, open to the public, and provide access to materials, support, creativity or technology for those that need it. we want to bring a sense of community and belonging, connecting students with Kingston residents!

we need your help

the Mayor of London can pledge up to £50K as part of the Make London campaign and starts to consider application this week. the more pledges we have, the higher chance there is of funding! you can support us by pledging from £2, following and sharing our project to show you think it’s a good idea. no money for pledges is taken until May, and then only if we hit target.

how to get involved

if you have ideas of what to sell in the space, register your interest and we’ll be in touch. we want you to lead the space; Creative and Cultural Industries and Interior Design students are already developing our identity/ brand, and plans for the space. not in Kingston? you can still take part! we’re exploring how you can still sell digital work through the store, and we’ll run digital events and workshops.

next steps

we’ll start recruitment and build out of the space in March, aiming to move in at the end of the month. our opening date is dependent on COVID-19 restrictions, but rolling exhibitions and events programmes will continue throughout the summer. in September, the space will be developed, so we hope to secure a new space to move to by August.
