Challengers has developed a toolkit through a pilot to help us gain feedback from the children and young people that use our service. The aim of this project is to gain continuous feedback from the children and young people that use our schemes to use in future development and improvement of the service.

The role of a research volunteer is to visit our schemes to gain feedback about Challengers schemes from the children and young people. They will carry out informal interviews, questionnaires and/or play games and activities aimed at soliciting feedback about Challengers and the activities we run. They will be fully supported by our Challengers engagement assistant while on scheme.

Interviewers should aim to talk to as many of the young people on scheme as possible during their visits, so the Study will include Children and Young People from all our schemes including;

ESHER PLAY, MOLESEY YOUTH, EPSOM YOUNG ADULTS, CATERHAM YOUTH, GUILDFORD PLAY, GUILDFORD YOUNG ADULTS, GUILDFORD YOUTH, READING YOUTH, ANDOVER YOUTH, BASINGSTOKE YOUTH , BASINGSTOKE PLAY, BASINGSTOKE YOUNG ADULTS, ALTON PLAY, PETERSFIELD YOUTH, EASTLEIGH YOUTH, EASTLEIGH PLAY, FARNHAM PLAY, CHICHESTER YOUTH, FARNHAM YOUTH, FARNHAM YOUNG ADULTS

Our main objectives are to:

  1. To have a consistent, good quality and objective feedback from disabled children and young people about Challengers Service.
  2. To continue to develop the toolkit of engagement tools to be used with children and young people with a range of disabilities.

Key responsibilities

1. To be reliable and attend the scheme on agreed days ready to gain feedback from our children and young people attending Challengers. 2. To report all child feedback using the documents and facilities provided in an understandable and easy to interpret way. 3. Work with play workers/volunteers to gain an unbiased view from the child or young person. You may need their help to communicate in some cases.. 4. Attend training sessions and meetings that are needed to carry out the role. 5. Report any concern about a child’s welfare or safety in accordance with Challengers Child Protection Policy and Procedure. 6. To conduct yourself and represent the Charity in a manner which reflects all the values and principles of The Challengers Approach.
