Muna Ali - VP Activities & Development

Hi everyone! My name is Muna Ali and I am the Activities and Development officer 19/20. My role within the SU is improving all aspects of the activities department (like Sports and Societies) so that your experience at Kingston University is the best, as well as making sure that there are amazing opportunities to help you grow.

I studied Applied Economics and International Relations and was heavily involved in the Students’ Union throughout my university experience. I was the treasurer and the Vice President of the Somali Society, the Societies Working Group representative looking after the culture societies. I also ran to be the NUS delete for the union to representative you all at the NUS National Conference both in 2018 and 2019.  Furthermore, I was also elected the Student Trustee in which I was the student representative on the Students’ Union Trustee Board making sure that the top decisions made for the organisation are made with the student’s needs in mind.

My priorities this year is to focus on finding a new finding system for sports and societies that aids in their development with a specific focus on small and medium sports and societies. I am looking to secure a neutral and centrally located quite room for students so that there is a space for all students to relax in. Another goal is to make sure that all activities are inclusive and accessible to all students; especially fresher’s week so that all students can enjoy the festivities. Finally, creating a variety of non-competitive recreational sports.
