what is it?

the National Union of Students (NUS) National Conference is the largest democratic gathering of students in the UK. it’s a three day event attended by delegates from Students’ Unions across the country. this year it takes place from 6th to the 8th April and held online.

Kingston University have been allocated five places* at the conference and this is a fantastic opportunity for KU students to help shape the future direction of the NUS and hold its Officers to account.  during the conference our elected delegates will represent all Kingston University students in voting on national policy and electing new members of National Scrutiny Council and Democratic Procedures Committee

more information can be found here NUS Conference website

can anyone do it?

absolutely! if you're a student at kingston, regardless of what year of study or whether you're a home, international or EU student,  you're totally welcome to apply

is it a voluntary role?

yes, this is a voluntary position and requires you to attend the conference online on the 6-8th April followed by writing a short report about conference.

if you are interested in a paid, full time role, we currently are looking for our new officer team. nominations close for these on the 15th March and you can find out more about them here

how do I take part?

you need to submit a nomination by 2nd March at 9am – the form can be found here or at the bottom of this page.

we will then hold an online election on the 8th and 9th March. all Kingston students will be able to vote for who they want to represent them at Conference.

we will announce the winners on the 10th March at our AGM and online
