Who can be in the Women’s Community?

This community is for all students who identify or self-define as women, including non-binary. Those with complex gender identities which include ‘woman’, and those who experience oppression as a woman may join this women’s community. [NUS Standing Order CD2, 2015]

What does the Women’s Community do?

The Women’s Community is dedicated to ensuring that the voices of women and non-binary individuals at Kingston University are heard and supported. We are dedicated to bringing in positive change that will impact all women and non-binary individuals at Kingston, and more importantly, community members get to speak up on issues that they feel passionate about and changes that they want to see.

What does it cost to join the Women’s Community?

It’s completely free to join the Women’s Community!

What does the Women’s Community hope to achieve?

This year the community representative Emma Campbell ran on the following manifesto:

  1. The creation of classes centred around consent and sexual health.

  1. There being a greater collaboration with LGBT+ students with regard to supporting transwomen and non-binary identities.

  1. There being an increase in resources and support for victims of sexual harassment / assault.

  1. Having greater representation for women and non-binary identities in the curriculum and university events.

I’m not a Kingston University student but I still want to get involved, can I?
