Sexual Harassment, Assault and Rape Protection Society (SHARP)

Description

Overview

Awareness of sexual assault, harassment and rape has been making great strides over the past 5 years. Victims are now speaking out when, previously, they have blamed themselves for something that was no fault of their own. Unfortunately, as society tries to empower these victims not only to speak out for themselves but also to prevent these acts from happening to others; the current procedures in place are not fit for purpose. Members of the SHARP society believe that raising awareness is not enough. The SHARP society believes in a proactive approach in tackling this crisis. Prevention, Intervention, Policy and After-care are the areas that SHARP aim to deliver, where it has not been able to.
