It’s been said that change can come about with the act of a single person. Well, in our case it’s five. Five vehement and driven students with a vision to ensure every parent in Kingston is confident in resuscitating a baby or toddler. And what’s even better is that we’re not alone in this fight. We’ve teamed up with the Royal Life Saving Society – an inspiring organisation who share the very same core values and aims as us – the main one being saving lives. Together with the help of the brilliant people at the RLSS, we’re proud to have founded Save a Baby’s Life KU.
How you can get involved
We are pleased to say that we have been running our very own rolling workshop at Kingston University since November 2018 with one simple goal: to train students, staff, parents and guardians to know exactly what to do in the event of a baby or toddler choking or drowning. These engaging workshops run at Penrhyn Road Campus, with anyone and everyone welcome to attend. We are also excited to say that we are looking to expand our horizons by taking our workshop on the road to Children’s Centers and schools across Kingston – sessions which you could potentially lead! As a member of our society, you will have chance to attend a community instructor training session where you can learn the skills required to deliver the workshop. After this you’ll be certified to teach life-saving skills to anyone and everyone!
I think it’s time we saved some lives. I hope you’ll be there with us to do it.
