welcome to the

Student Opportunities Festival!

our groups and your union will be hosting (virtual) taster sessions, Q&As, games and more to give you a little flavour of what they’re about!

we’ve got societies and communities for your interests, your faith, your course, your identity and your hobby. whether you’re looking for competitive sports or to casually take part, we’ve got you. if you want to kick-start your CV, we’ve got skills development and volunteering programs ready and waiting.

Societies

societies are run by students, for students! our societies enhance your social life whilst at uni, all without breaking the bank - they are free to join for the first term this year. you’re guaranteed to make friends and have an unforgettable uni experience, making memories you'll keep with you for the rest of your life.

Sports

we have 40 sports clubs and different activities for you to get involved with. sport is a fantastic way of meeting new students, staying active and healthy and the chance to try something new. if you don’t like being competitive, we have recreational sport, too!

Community Groups

communities are run by students, for students from similar experiences, backgrounds and identities. they are places where you can bring up issues that affect you and others in your group and allow you to campaign for change in your Union.

Skills Development

our Skills department have lots of opportunities for you to learn new skills like public speaking, inspirational leadership, presentational skills and more all through our free weekly workshops! we also have Kingston alumni booked in to share their career and personal experiences, who were once just like you.

Volunteering

we know you love helping others. and we love helping you do it. you can find out all about how to raise money for causes you love and also see what other students are getting up to for the causes close to their hearts too. if it’s raising money or giving up your time to give back we have something for you

Sustainability

looking after the environment is really important to us at UKS. if you want to help us with our Green Impact Award, join our sustainability committee or campaign for local and national environmental issues, then look out for our sustainability drop in events.
