Nomations are open for our Student Council Elections. This is the body that:

• Shapes and votes upon the policy and direction of the Union - telling us what we need to work on
• Holds your 4 Full Time Elected Officers to account
• Awards the Union's Campaigns Fund to student projects
• Makes and amends the Union's Bye-Laws - how we run!

 

There are 25 positions available:

• The Independent Chair of Student Council - open to any Kingston student
• 8 Campus Representatives - open to any Kingston student, with 1 Undergraduate and 1 Postgraduate Representative per campus
• 1 Volunteering Working Group Chair - open to any Kingston student, elected by all students
• 5 Senior Course Representatives - open to any Senior Course Rep, elected by all students
• 1 LBGTQIA+ Network Representative - elected by the LGBTQIA+ Student Network
• 2 Disabled and Mental Health Network Representatives - elected by the Disabled and Mental Health Network  
• 1 BME Student Network Representative - elected by the BME Student Network
• 1 Women's Student Network Representative - elected by the Women's Student Network
• 2 International Student Network Representatives - elected by the International Student Network, with 1 representing EU and 1 representing Non-EU Students
• 1 Postgraduate and Part-Time Students Network Representative - elected by the Postgraduate and Part-Time Student Network
• 1 Mature and Carers Student Network Representative - elected by the Mature Students and Carers Student Network
• 1 Professional Practice and Commuter Students Network Representative - elected by the Professional Practice and Commuter Student Network

 

How Can I Stand?

• Choose a position to run for (if it's one of the Network Reps, you must join the Network first - they can be found here)
• Log into our website
• Visit your account page
• Upload a photo and a short piece on why you would like to run for the position (this is called your manifesto!)
• Submit your nomination by Monday 15th October at 12pm.

 

What Next?

• Encourage students to vote for you (online and face-to-face) during Tuesday 16th - Thursday 18th October
• Election results are out Friday 19th October - BEST OF LUCK!
