Your student officers support the boycotting of clubs and bars across the UK over the next two weeks, in response to the reports of an increase in drink spiking. A boycott is planned for Kingston-Upon-Thames on Wednesday 27th October, with many of our sports clubs and societies cancelling their Wednesday night socials to support the boycott.

Your officers are in contact with Pryzm Kingston, asking them to support the boycott and close for 27th October, like other Pryzm venues across the country. The Union doesn’t run the bars on campus, but your student officers are in touch with the campus bar owners at Kingston Hill and Knights Park campus to consider taking part.

We believe every student should feel safe during their time at University, and we’ll be working with our campus bars to ensure the correct protocols are in place to prevent drink spiking and provide support to students who may need it.

Your Union advice team is here should you need to speak to anyone about this issue - please email support@kingston.ac.uk
