About us

Union of Kingston Students is a registered charity whose student members democratically lead the organisation, supported by a team of permanent staff who are responsible for the operation and management of the union. The student members are represented at all levels of decision making within the union and the university, supported by the union’s staff team. The elected student representatives sit on various boards and committees to represent the views of Kingston University students.

We employ both students and staff in permanent and temporary, and other roles.

Union of Kingston Students (UKS) has recently developed a new strategy, undergone a rebrand, and rewritten our governance as part of a wider turnaround project.

We are now ready to redesign our website, and therefore are seeking to appoint a new website provider to focus on the User Interface (UI), User Experience (UX) and administration back-end.

As a students union, we must be able to run free and fair elections, create and manage membership groups for our sports and societies, and target specific groups in dynamic user groups, all through our website. We have over 18,000+ members.

This agreement is for a 36 months term with potential for extension, starting with an initial fixed 12 month period, after which a break clause may be applied by UKS to the balance with a 3 month notice period.

Interested website providers are invited to submit their proposals detailing their approach to fulfil the outlined responsibilities, along with relevant experience, pricing structure, and any additional services offered. Proposals should be sent to g.richards@kingston.ac.uk no later than 9am on 17th April.
